My teaching career, spanning from 2017 to the present, reflects a commitment to comprehensive historical education, demonstrating adaptability across chronological periods, academic departments, and student stages. This journey has allowed me to develop expertise in both broad survey courses and highly specialized regional studies.
The initial years (2017–2018) established a foundation of chronological and departmental versatility. In 2017, I introduced History of the Ancient Near East to Second Stage students in the History Department, balancing this specialized ancient focus with a unique interdisciplinary role teaching Kurdology to First Stage students in the English Department. This early experience underscored the importance of adapting pedagogical methods and content delivery for diverse audiences, including those outside the core historical discipline. In 2018, the scope broadened further with the instruction of History of Modern Europe for Third Stage History students, demonstrating comfort in managing advanced-level coursework.
The year 2020 marked a peak in disciplinary breadth within the History Department, as I simultaneously instructed foundational concepts through History of Ancient Europe for First Stage students and delivered a specialized course on History of Modern Iran for Third Stage students. This dual role—teaching both introductory surveys and highly specific, upper-division topics—is indicative of a robust command over the discipline, enabling effective instruction from foundational concepts to complex historiographical debates.
Since 2021, my focus has shifted toward developing and sustaining deep regional expertise within modern history. I have been consistently responsible for two core, specialized courses: History of Modern Iran during the First Semester and History of Modern and Contemporary Turkey during the Second Semester. This continuous engagement with the modern history of the Middle East and Central Asia has allowed me to refine curriculum design, incorporate the latest scholarship, and foster critical analysis skills in students engaging with complex geopolitical and cultural narratives.
Overall, my teaching experience reflects a flexible educator capable of instructing across all stages (First, Second, and Third), spanning ancient to contemporary periods, and capable of applying historical methodology across traditional departmental boundaries.
